I founded B.E.P. Consulting in 2015 to bring the rigor of public-policy research to the practical work of structuring and delivering programs.
My career began in uniform. As a U.S. Army officer from 1988 to 1991, I served as Deputy Commander, Executive Officer, and Platoon Leader, accountable for more than 1,200 personnel and $200M in equipment. That service shaped how I lead: take responsibility for the outcome, and stay close to the work.
Since then I have worked as an economist, a professor and dean, a research center director, and an independent director on the boards of NASDAQ-listed companies. Today B.E.P. is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and I still direct every engagement personally, from Pearland, Texas to project sites across Africa.
